THE GOSPEL

GOD : THE RIGHTEOUS CREATOR
“In the beginning, God created…”

There is one true God who has always existed in three persons, each of whom are equally God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God has revealed Himself to be perfectly holy and righteous, completely pure and hating evil. He has created you and me and all that is. This fact alone means that He has the right to define what our relationship with Him should be. His loving intent and just requirement is for us to live under His righteous rule in perfect joy and obedience to His law.

ME : THE SINNER
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves…”

Instead of loving and obeying God, we have all rebelled against Him and His authority. The Bible says this makes us His enemies and that we are subject to death and eternal punishment from God. Because God’s standard is perfect obedience, no amount of personal effort or good works can reconcile us with God. Like it or not, this is God’s statement of our true condition. But there is hope…

JESUS : THE ONLY SAVIOR
“There is salvation in no one else…”

Here is why the gospel is good news: Even though we are rebels, God, in His great love and mercy, has provided a Savior so that we can be reconciled with Him. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ (Himself truly  God), to be born as a man and live a perfect life so that He could provide disobedient sinners with the credit of His own righteous   obedience to God’s law. Willingly dying on the cross, He took on Himself the penalty for the sins of all who will believe in Him. Three days later, He rose from the grave (conquering death itself) and ascended into heaven with the promise of a future return to judge the living and the dead.

RESPONSE : DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO?
“Repent and believe in the Gospel…”

God has graciously provided the way to be reconciled to Him. He commands you to respond to Jesus by turning from your sin and entrusting yourself fully to Him and what He has done for you, humbly receiving Him as your Savior and Lord. Only Jesus can pardon you, give you a new heart from God, and give you the greatest gift of all: eternal life with God.
